Our Story
CHHAYATARU CAFE was born from a love for art, coffee, and community. Tucked away near Vanish Kali Park in Shibpur, Howrah, we opened our doors as a sanctuary where creativity flows as freely as our specialty coffee.
The name 'Chhayataru' means 'shade tree' in Bengali — and that's exactly what we aim to be: a welcoming shade where artists, writers, students, and dreamers can gather, create, and connect. Our space is adorned with local artwork, rotating exhibitions, and cozy corners perfect for sketching, reading, or deep conversations.
Our menu features specialty single-origin coffees, handcrafted beverages, and a curated food menu of artisan sandwiches, fresh salads, and house-made desserts — all made with locally sourced ingredients and served with artistic flair.
